Once again this year, thesis awards will be granted to particularly good final theses related to Helsinki by students of universities or institutes of higher education. There are no subject or discipline restrictions. The aim is to reward theses that represent a wide variety of academic fields.

The award can be granted to authors of relevant theses completed towards a master’s degree or equivalent in the academic year 2024–2025, i.e. between 1 August 2024 and 31 July 2025.

The total amount to be awarded is €4,000, divided between 4–10 theses. Institutes of higher education can nominate their students' work for the award. The institutes are asked to submit their nominations by 16 October 2025. Recipients will receive the awards in December.
