The City of Helsinki is studying the effects of winter conditions and the prevention of slippery conditions on dogs’ paws. The City collects experiences from dog owners in Helsinki and experts in the field, such as dog associations and veterinarians.
Residents can share their experiences through an open map survey until the end of February 2026. Data is also collected from a group of active dog owners who report on their dog walking experiences on a weekly basis during the winter season.
The information gathered during the project will be used to get a good idea of the best way to prevent slippery conditions and to ensure safe and smooth walking for everyone in the city – including dogs.
The consultant for the study is Ramboll Finland Oy.
Answer the survey(Link leads to external service) by the end of February.
