Artturi Lähdetie appointed as Helsinki’s new Infrastructure Manager

Artturi Lähdetie took up his post as the City of Helsinki’s new Infrastructure Manager on 10 August.

Lähdetie (M.Sc.) will head the Public Areas service within the Urban Environment Division. The service is responsible for the management of streets, parks and other public areas in Helsinki, carries out related projects and organises the maintenance of streets and public areas. The manager of the service is responsible for planning, monitoring and overseeing the operations of the administrative unit under their management, as well as for ensuring its performance and the achievement of its objectives. 

Lähdetie has extensive experience in managing investment and infrastructure projects relating to public transport, urban development and city structure. He is moving to the City of Helsinki’s Urban Environment Division from his role as Unit Director at Metropolitan Area Transport Ltd. Lähdetie has played a key role in the development and implementation of the Jokeri Light Rail and Crown Bridges Light Rail projects, among others.
