The maritime nature of Helsinki is utilised through events and experiences such as the Baltic Herring Market, the mobile nature trail on Harakka island and the Helsinki Biennale, which enrich the lives of the city’s residents and tourists alike.
We are involved in ensuring that the most interesting maritime services and destinations that Helsinki has to offer are able to develop. We strengthen business cooperation and support various service pilots and operational opportunities along the coastal route. It is important to us that coastal routes are opened and maintained, the land use plans for the archipelago and the coastal routes are worked on, and the transport connections between the islands are strengthened.
