Applications for the summer jobs of the City of Helsinki are submitted electronically through the city’s recruitment system at Helsinkirekry.fi > Open jobs > Summer jobs and summer temporary posts. The application period is indicated separately for each job. It is a good idea to keep an active eye on the site, as new jobs will be posted almost weekly during the spring. The coronavirus epidemic may affect the realisation of some summer jobs and cause delays in the selection process. Possible delays will be communicated to the applicants by email at different application phases.

This year, summer workers will be recruited, for example, for the care sector, as park workers, for kitchen work, for different office duties, as planner trainees, as construction helpers and for sports facility maintenance. The city is looking for students and professionals especially for the Social Services and Health Care Division to substitute for the staff during their annual leave. The city has about 3,500 summer job openings, about 1,000 of which are intended for young summer workers.
As usual, summer jobs will also be offered by the city’s companies, such as Helsinki Marketing, Palmia and Korkeasaari. Applications for the summer jobs of the city’s companies are submitted through the company websites.
