Named after painter Venny Soldan-Brofeldt, the park will become a versatile park area, offering a wide range of things to do for Helsinki residents of different ages. Once the project is complete, you will be able to relax and play in the park, in addition to playing football and savoring the joy of exercise thanks to the new gym equipment. The project will build an arena suitable for ball games and a fitness area in the northern part of the park, featuring push-up bars and a multipurpose exercise device, among other things. You will also be able to play table tennis on the new table tennis table.
With the construction of a new stage and stands in the southern part of the area, the park will also feature a performance venue in the future. Other improvements to the functionality of the area include new stairs, park paths and a litter bin. Meanwhile, the park’s vegetation will be enhanced by planting over 70 new trees in the park. Flower bulbs will also add splashes of colour, as the plan is to plant several hundred of them in the park.
Go climbing at Venny Park and enjoy the nearby beach
The playground at Venny Park has become a favourite among young Helsinki residents thanks to its climbing frames and distinctive curved shape. The park serves as a central attraction in Kuninkaantammi for local residents and other Helsinki residents alike. In addition to an adventure trail, the park’s play area features a water play area for cooling off on hot days, as well as a sandpit. You can even spend an entire summer day at Venny Park, as the area also has plenty of space for relaxation and a barbecue spot. The highlight of a summer day in Kuninkaantammi is a visit to Palettilampi beach, which opened a couple of years ago and is situated near the park.
