The City received about 9,300 applications for after-school activities for younger students for the upcoming school year. All first- and second-grade pupils who applied during the application period will be offered a place. If no place can be provided at the preferred location, the child is offered a place at another activity location nearby.

Decisions on after-school activity places will be sent to families by post this week. For schools run by the City, the decisions are also visible in Wilma.

After-school activities will start on Wednesday 12 August 2026, the same day as school starts, and will continue until the end of the school year. These activities provide young students with fun things to do after school. They are supervised activities at or near schools that run until 16.00 or 17.00 and make everyday life easier for families.

After-school activities are fee-based. Parents and guardians can apply for a discount on the monthly fees based on their income. You can apply for the discount after your child has started the activities.

The application period for after-school activities is in March and April. You can also apply for a place after the application deadline, but in this case, you are not guaranteed a place. Applications received after the deadline will begin to be processed in August.
