Photo: Manuel Estrada ToimiNtAKERTOMUS 2012 31 Finances The operating costs of the City of Helsinki Cultural Office came to 12,491,424 euros. Operating income totalled 761,045 euros. Operating margin was -11,730,379 euros. A total of 362,769 euros were entered in depreciations. Operating income exceeded expectations by 50,045 euros and operating costs by 190,424 euros. Operating costs of the Savoy unit came to 1,397,124 euros, and income to 670,687 euros. At -726,436 euros, the operating margin was 102,563 euros greater than anticipated. A total of 3,621 euros were entered in depreciations. Within the budget, the Cultural Office had reserved 90,000 euros for activities financed using external funds. The Office had the right to use this appropriation on condition that a corresponding sum is accumulated in income from external funding sources. The Ministry of Education and Culture allocated 90,000 euros in funding to Annantalo’s Taikalamppu – Aladdin’s Lamp project. Personnel At the end of 2012, the City of Helsinki Cultural Office had 123 full-time employees, of whom 103 were permanent and 20 non-permanent employees. At the end of the year, the Office employed 12 persons through employment services, six in non-military service, and 49 part-time fixed-term teachers. The average age of full-time personnel was 42. Women accounted for 60 per cent of staff, and men for 40 per cent.
