THE OPERATING COSTS of the City of Helsinki Cultural Office came to EUR 13,165,377. Operating income totalled EUR 734,122. The operating margin was EUR -12,431,255. A total of EUR 447,808 was entered in depreciations. The operating income was EUR 22,122 more than expected, and operating costs were EUR 1,623 under budget. The operating costs and income of the Savoy unit were EUR 1,641,571 and EUR 803,978, respectively. The operating margin was thus EUR -837,593. Within the budget, the Cultural Office had been reserved EUR 80,000 for activities financed using external funds. The Office had the right to use this appropriation on condition that matching funding was obtained from external funding sources. This condition was satisfied when the Ministry of Education and Culture provided funding for the Taikalamppu – Aladdin’s Lamp project at Annantalo and the Kone Foundation provided funding for the regional and multilingual Actress and singer Kristiina Halttu interpreted songs by Anna-Mari Kähärä in Kanneltalo, Malmitalo and Vuotalo house. Personnel AT THE END OF 2014, the City of Helsinki Cultural Office had 124 full-time employees, of whom 102 were permanent and 22 non-permanent employees. At the end of the year, the Office employed 14 persons through employment services, four performing their non-military service, and 55 fee-paid teachers. The average age of full-time personnel was 49 years. Women accounted for 60 per cent of staff, and men for 40 per cent.
