Designing the City's Strategy – How Has Lahti Used Design as a Strategic Asset in the City Development

The City of Lahti's Design Strategy is focusing on using design as a tool for user-driven innovation to improve competitiveness of local businesses and public services. Lahti is a 'green clean' design city where citizens have an active open source role via "Lahen D", a user-centered design platform. The metabrief for the city of Lahti is I.C.E.: Ideas from people, Crossfunctional Co-design for solutions in an Environmentally conscious way.
