This is how far we have come in a hundred years: To begin with Helsinki had about 13 kilometres of electrified tramlines. Now (2004) the network totals 75 kilometres. Services began with 35 trams. In 2000 the city has 105 trams.

Helsinki City Transport is also planning and building new lines. For example line 9 from Pasila to Kolmikulma will start operating year 2008.
