Postpartum check-ups are an important part of overall pregnancy care. A postpartum check-up is a medical check-up you get after having a baby to make sure you're recovering well from labour and birth.
All postpartum check-ups are centralised in the Postpartum Assessment Unit. The unit employs public health nurses and midwives specialised in postpartum follow-up care. During the check-up, we will discuss matters such as your childbirth experience, recovery, mood and overall health.
You can also have your postpartum check-up at your own maternity clinic, if a doctor's examination is necessary.
Your maternity clinic nurse will determine which location would suit you best.
