Invoicing and contact information

The government degree on the compensation charge of the ambulance service’s costs defines the price of the ambulance service, which includes the departure cost, kilometre cost, the additional cost of a second paramedic and compensation for the waiting time cost.

According to the Health Insurance Act, the transported patient’s share of the invoice is EUR 25.00, since 1 January 2016. No invoice will be sent for assignments where the patient is not transported to a health care service location by ambulance.  An exception to the abovementioned rule are those assignments where the examination and treatment by paramedics helped the patient to avoid a visit to the emergency healthcare services (for example, analysis of an ECG, stabilising blood sugar levels, fixing atrial cardiac arrhythmia).  In such cases, the patient must pay for the liability share.

In unclear situations, the financial secretary of Helsinki City Rescue Department's emergency medical services should be contacted (see contact information).
