Information on family care in Helsinki, how to become a family carer and training for family carers is available from social workers:
The Department of Social Services and Health Care organises short-term and long-term family care for disabled persons at contract family homes. The department also purchases family care services from private service providers (Rinnekoti and incorporated professional family homes).
Family care in private homes gives the customers opportunities for family-type care and close, lasting human relationships. Family care promotes the wellbeing, growth and development of disabled persons.
New family caregivers are needed. New family homes are especially needed for children and young people.
