The coronavirus quarantine in Viikki ended on 11 March – no new cases

The quarantine of the pupils and staff of Viikki Teacher Training School and the HJK junior team ended at 3 pm on 11 March.

All affected parties have been notified of the end of the quarantine. All those who were quarantined can now continue their normal lives and go back to school and work.

“The quarantine period has gone well. Our pupils have studied and participated in school work via remote connections, for example,” School Principal Tapio Lahtero says.

“The quarantine was also a success in terms of health care. No one under quarantine got ill during the two weeks. At this time, the measures proved sufficient,” Medical Director of Health Stations Timo Lukkarinen says, satisfied.

“I am pleased with how understanding people have been,” Lukkarinen continues.

If anyone who was quarantined develops symptoms indicative of a coronavirus infection, they have been advised to contact the coronavirus helpline, tel. 09 310 10024 (weekdays 7–20) and the Medical Helpline, tel. 116 117, at other times.
