It is safe to visit Helsinki’s health stations also in coronavirus times

An alarming phenomenon has been noticed at health stations. Many persons who would need treatment for other reasons than coronavirus do not show up at a doctor’s or nurse’s appointment.

It may be fateful not to seek help, if a long-term sickness get worse.

We understand that residents are careful so that the coronavirus would not spread. One reason is also that people do not want to burden the health care in these difficult times.

It is, however, important to take care of your and the loved ones health also during the coronavirus epidemic, both in case of an acute trouble or care of a long-term condition.

“The health stations are open and you do not need to cancel your appointments. It is safe to visit health care services. Our entrance hall attendants at all our units will make sure the premises are safe”, Director of Health Stations Timo Lukkarinen, says.

“I would like to encourage the residents of Helsinki to take care of themselves and their loved ones.”
