Helsinki will offer COVID-19 vaccinations to 1st–5th-graders (7–11-year-olds) from Tuesday, 26 April at the Jätkäsaari and Malmi vaccination points. The vaccination is only by appointment. Appointment booking for this group will open later and will be announced separately.
Vaccinations are offered to 1st–5th-graders at the vaccination points on Tuesdays at 15:00–18:00. You can find the locations of the vaccination points at hel.fi/vaccination.
1st–5th-graders are offered the first and second vaccine doses. Vaccination is offered to all children included in this group regardless of their place of residence.
Consent of both guardians is required for vaccinating a child
Vaccination requires the consent of both guardians. If the child comes in for a vaccine with only one guardian, a written consent form signed by the absent guardian must be presented. The consent form can be printed from the THL website.
Vaccination for those who have recovered from COVID-19
The first dose of the vaccine can be given to children 4 to 6 months after recovery from COVID-19.
If a child has been diagnosed with a laboratory-confirmed coronavirus infection less than 6 weeks after the first dose, a second dose is recommended at the earliest 4 to 6 months after the infection. If there is a gap of more than 6 weeks between the first dose and the infection, the second dose is not necessary for protection.
Vaccination requires a valid form of ID
In order to get a vaccine, the child’s identity must be proven, for example, with an ID card or Kela card.
The vaccine for children is Pfizer 10 micrograms/dose. Vaccination is voluntary and free of charge.
