Some youth facilities opening on May

Some youth centers will open on 3 May. You can check whether your local youth center will open and its opening hours in the information section of each building’s social media channel or at Until 16 May, youth services will focus in particular on digital and mobile youth work, in addition which youth work services will continue providing individual and small group activities to those in need of special support.

Our youth workers can be reached by means such as via social media and by phone, and their contact information can be found on the youth centres’ websites. Do not hesitate to contact them, and be sure to keep an eye on the programme organised on social media.

Hobby group activities for those born in 2001 and later will be continued, but in a manner that will allow all hobby groups to be implemented in a health-secure manner and without close contact. Despite facilities and services gradually opening, it is important for everyone to keep adhering to all restrictions and recommendations in effect.

Libraries remain open to a limited extent

Libraries will remain open with limited services until 16 May. However, during the period of limited services, customers can borrow and return books and other materials, collect reserved materials and use the customer computers briefly and independently to take care of necessary matters.

Library customers must wear a face mask and keep a safe distance from the staff and other customers.

Outdoor exercise locations will remain open

The City’s outdoor exercise locations will remain open. Outdoor fields will remain available to everyone for recreational activities of children and young people outside of the already reserved time slots. Safe distances must be kept at outdoor sports facilities (such as artificial turf fields and artificial skating rinks). People are allowed to use the facilities only when healthy. The dressing room facilities of the outdoor exercise locations will remain closed, however (toilets will be open).

Schools returning to contact teaching

Upper secondary schools and vocational colleges will continue following the alternation model until 2 May, after which they will switch fully to contact teaching beginning on 3 May.

All educational institutions will adhere to health security plans to minimise close contact and stagger the use of the institutions’ facilities.

Instructed hobby activities for those born in 2001 and later, held in indoor facilities administrated by the Education Division, will start in early May.
