Registration for spring 2021 sports courses starts in early January

As usual, the City of Helsinki’s supervised sports courses will start in early January. Registration for the spring season 2021 sports courses will begin at the start of the year, on Monday 4 January 2021 at 9–19 only by phone by calling 09 310 28858. Registrations will be accepted on this number until Tuesday 5 January at 19.00.

Once again, sports courses will be available for children and families with children, young people, working-age people and seniors. Special groups will be provided with adapted exercise. Current coronavirus restrictions and instructions will be followed carefully on the sports courses. For example, the group sizes of the sports courses will be smaller than before in order to ensure safe distances, the sports facilities will provide hand sanitiser, and the courses will emphasise hand, coughing and nose-blowing hygiene. In addition to indoor sports, the spring course selection will feature outdoor sports subject to a fee, provided as so-called short courses that were popular in the autumn of 2020.

“We will take all coronavirus restrictions and instructions issued into account on our sports courses and act accordingly. Outdoor activities are now very popular, partly because of the current situation, and we will continue providing outdoor sports courses in the spring season as well. Sports courses will again be available across the city in fresh outdoor air, as supervised courses are held in parks and fields and at the City’s high-quality gyms,” comments the City’s Sports Services Director Tuuli Salospohja.

“Additionally, familiar fitness, gym and water sports classes of different levels will be held as usual, with coronavirus instructions kept in mind, of course,” Salospohja continues.
