New website brings together all of the City of Helsinki’s events in one place

The City of Helsinki wants to make the everyday lives of its residents more convenient. As part of the development of new digital services, on Wednesday 11 November the City opened a new website at tapahtumat.hel.fi, where you can find all of the City’s own leisure time events and a number of events offered by other event organisers as well. During 2021, the website will also be expanded to bring together all of the hundreds of children’s and young people’s activities offered by the City of Helsinki in one place.

Tapahtumat.hel.fi also features an easy-to-use event search function that you can use to search for content and events that interest you based on date, venue or event category, for example. The new website is available in Finnish, Swedish and English. To visit the new Tapahtumat.hel.fi website, click here.

The website and especially its search functionality have been developed from the ground up in collaboration with users. “Residents were asking for a website where you could find all of the City’s events and activities. The new tapahtumat.hel.fi website brings them all together on a single website for the first time. The hope is that residents will always be able to find something new and exciting through the service and that the website will also help people discover events that they might not otherwise have thought to look for,” says the editor of tapahtumat.hel.fi Essi Eranka from the City’s Culture and Leisure Division.

All of the events listed will be organised in compliance with the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare’s and the Ministry of Education and Culture’s guidelines on safe distances and hygiene practices. The use of face masks is strongly recommended at indoor events. For more information on current recommendations and restrictions, please visit the City of Helsinki’s coronavirus updates page.
