The City of Helsinki has decided to allow boat owners to continue to keep their vessels in municipal winter storage facilities until 15 September 2020 at no extra cost, due to the coronavirus situation. Boats at the Hernesaari location must however be moved to another municipal storage area to make way for construction.
Boat owners that wish to keep their vessels in their winter storage spaces through the summer do not need to contact the city to make separate arrangements, as the extension of the agreement will take place automatically. General inquiries can be made to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Boats in winter storage spaces administered by the City of Helsinki can only be kept in storage until 15 September 2020 at no extra cost, if their owners have paid their winter storage fees for the 2019-2020 period accordingly. The city will also not require boating clubs or sailing societies that rent winter storage spaces from the city to pay extra for the extended storage opportunity.
Under normal conditions, the deadline for launching boats that have been in municipal storage areas would have been 10 June 2020.
