The City of Helsinki lowers its rents for events venues

The corona pandemic has had a strong impact on the events sector. For this reason, the City of Helsinki has decided to start charging the rents for its events venues on a case-by-case basis.

Observing the principle of parity, the rent pricing will account for the conditions that go with the regulations on government funding, the demand for the venue in question, and the nature of the event. Another criterion for the rent level is the planned number of visitors to the event (more or less than 500 people), and costs for possible related delimitation measures.

The City recommends the daughter organisations of the Helsinki City business group to take this rent policy into account within the scope of their own economic capacity.

The rent policy will be applied from 1 July to 30 September 2020.
