Helsinki opens Education Helpline to answer questions about new school arrangements

People with questions can call tel. 09 310 10025 for information in Finnish and English starting 17 March at noon. The service will be open every weekday from 9 am to 6 pm.

The City of Helsinki will open an Education Helpline on 17 March at 12 pm noon to answer questions the public may have about new school arrangements in the capital.

This follows a policy decision from the Finnish government that will shut down face-to-face classroom instruction in schools as of 18 March and start distance learning from homes

A second helpline number, tel. 09 310 10027 will provide information in Swedish.

The City of Helsinki website also includes list of frequently asked questions associated with the new school arrangements.

Pupils will receive instructions for home study via the Wilma service. Online learning will take place over various electronic platforms. Teachers have a selection of distance learning and online video tools they can use for carrying out online instruction. The instructors will assign goals, guide the learning process and give feedback to the students in the online environment.
