Impacts of the community transmission phase on the arrangement of education
Helsinki has entered the community transmission phase of the coronavirus pandemic. We will arrange a virtual parents’ evening for the guardians of Helsinki’s comprehensive school pupils on Wednesday 2.12.2020 at 18.00. The discussed topic will be the impacts of the coronavirus on the operations of the schools and the measures with which we can jointly curb the spread of the virus. The event will be held in Finnish, Swedish and English.
Throughout the coronavirus epidemic, Helsinki’s comprehensive schools have strictly observed the hygiene instructions and strived to arrange teaching and other activities in adherence with safe distances. As of Monday 23.11.2020, pupils of the 7th–10th grades have been recommended to wear a face mask at school if they do not have a health condition preventing the use. The personnel of comprehensive schools already received a face mask recommendation during the epidemic’s acceleration phase on 11.11.2020.
