The Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra has launched its new HKO Screen mobile app, which provides mobile access to the orchestra’s concerts that are streamed online. The app allows users to watch and listen to concerts live online, return to concert recordings and listen to interviews with guest artists.
At the moment, the app provides access to all of the orchestra’s concerts from the 2019-2020 season that have been streamed online, and more content is being added all the time. New concert recordings are published on the app as soon as possible after the live broadcast. The Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra produces 12-14 live streams a year, 1-2 times a month.
The free app is available on Android and iOS mobile devices.
Nordic Sound network founded
The Nordic Sound network was founded at the Nordic Orchestra Conference in Copenhagen last October. The aim of the new pan-Nordic network is to grow and facilitate the online viewing and listening of classical music.
The network currently consists of 18 orchestras and other actors within the field of music. Members from Finland currently include the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra and the Lahti Symphony Orchestra. The Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra’s new HKO Screen mobile app is based on a platform created by the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra in close collaboration with the software developer.
