Music Centre project to continue without interruption
On November 2nd, the board of directors of Kiinteistöosakeyhtiö Helsingin Musiikkitalo, the holding company which owns the building, considered the bid received for the main contract of the Music Centre and decided not to approve it. The low number of contract bids and the received bid price are results of the current market conditions in construction. There is a lot of contract work and a shortage of contractors and resources. However, the board of the suggests that the Music Centre building project is not interrupted, because this is more advantageous than suspending the project and waiting for a downward change in the construction market, both economically and because of schedule.
