Waterline
5.6–12.9.2015

The summer exhibition Waterline on Laituri will take you to the best spots on the shoreline routes.

Helsinki waterfront is over 130 km long and offers magnificent and varied landscapes for cyclists, joggers and sea canoeists alike. Walking along the shoreline lets one experience all kinds of environments: urban residential areas, maintained parks, lively marketplaces and untouched natural shores.

Keeping the shoreline open to all has long been a principle of Helsinki’s city planning. More open shore routes and bathing spots will be created in the new city districts.

Visitors to the Waterline exhibition can share their favourite spot on a giant beach map, or they can leave their greetings on a postcard to the designers of maritime Helsinki

This summer anyone can organise a public event on Helsinki’s beaches. Fourteen great spots along the route have been reserved specifically for open events.Location reservations and permits are not required. Locations and events can be found on the Beach Summer website Rantakesä #yli130km.
