Christmas and New Year’s Eve at the Senate Square

Helsinki Christmas Market has had a facelift. The event offers now much more fun for the whole family with a merry-go-round, music and a decorative small spruce wood along with a huge Christmas Tree. Open 8 to 21 December every day 10-19.

The residents of Helsinki have welcomed the New Year at the Senate Square since the 1930’s. On the evening of the last day of the year tens of thousands of people gather to celebrate and enjoy a programme consisting of musical performances, greetings and singing, culminating in brilliant fireworks by midnight.
