Helsinki Dresses – buildings as costumes

Helsinki Dresses is described as designer Anne Mustarastas' love letter to Helsinki and its architecture. The exhibition presents eight of the city's most beautiful buildings transformed into dashing and colourful attire. Each of the collection's outfits tells a story told playfully and vividly from a dressmaker's point of view.

The designer wants to encourage us to explore our surroundings with a sense of wonder, and to be inspired by it in our very own personal ways.

Based in Helsinki, Anne Mustarastas has made her career in costume departments of various theatres. Helsinki Dresses is her first solo show and a long-time dream come true.

During the autumn the exhibition will host Helsinki Songs night with musicians Jenna Marie Pietilä and Ville Särmä performing songs about the city.
