The Hospital District of Helsinki and Uusimaa has four maternity hospitals: the hospitals of Hyvinkää, Jorvi and Lohja, as well as the Women's Hospital in Helsinki. In addition, the hospitals of Porvoo and Raasepori provide maternity clinic services, for example ultrasound screenings.
Mothers living in the HUS district may choose the maternity unit where they wish to give birth.
You do not need to give birth at the same hospital where you had your ultrasound screenings.
However, if you require monitoring at a maternity outpatient clinic or a hospital during your pregnancy, this should be done at the same place where you intend to give birth.
