What is social guidance for families with children?
Social guidance for families with children includes support, guidance and advice for families with children under 16 that are going through different situations in their lives in matters related to parenthood and bringing up a child.
There are two teams of social guidance, and clients are allocated to a team according to the age of the child (under 10 or between 11 and 16).
The names of the teams are
- Social guidance for families with children (children under 10 and pregnant mothers)
- Social guidance for families with children 2 (children between 11 and 16)
The service is free of charge.
How can the service be applied for?
- The service is applied for by contacting the social care workers of the region, by calling the social care service number, through a contact as defined in the Social Welfare Act or through the “Need help?” button’s online form. A list of service districts can be found under Contact Information.
- The service is applied for by contacting a Swedish-speaking social care worker. The contact details are available below.
In most cases, social care workers visit families in their homes.
