The EU COVID-19 certificate, i.e. the COVID-19 passport, can be found via the My Kanta service at omakanta.fi. You can log in to My Kanta with your online bank codes (suomi.fi identification). There is a delay in the transfer of data to My Kanta, for example after vaccination, which may take a few days.

An electronic certificate on your phone is sufficient for all services where the COVID-19 passport is requested, such as restaurants and sports facilities.

The EU Digital COVID Certificate consists of three different certificates:

  • a COVID-19 vaccination certificate,
  • a certificate of a negative COVID-19 test result,
  • a certificate of recovery from COVID-19.

The COVID-19 vaccination certificate will be available in My Kanta as soon as you have received the vaccination. The certificate will show the name of the most recent vaccine received, the date of administration and the number of vaccine doses. If you have received two vaccines, only the name of the second vaccine dose will be shown.

The certificate of a negative COVID-19 test result will be updated on My Kanta once the test results are ready. My Kanta will show your latest test result first.

The certificate of recovery from COVID-19 is submitted to My Kanta when the disease is confirmed with a positive PCR test result. A lateral flow test (an antigen test) result is not sufficient as proof of an infection. An EU Digital COVID Certificate will not be updated to the My Kanta pages if the result of the coronavirus test is weakly positive. The test result can then read, for example, "trace" or "limit value".

There may be a delay of a few days in transferring data to My Kanta.

Where can I print an EU COVID-19 certificate

The EU COVID-19 certificate can be printed out at four printing points.

The printing points are located in

  • Central Library Oodi (Töölönlahdenkatu 4)
  • Cultural Centre Stoa  (Turunlinnantie 1)
  • Kannelmäki Library (Klaneettitie 5)
  • Malmitalo Library (Ala-Malmin tori 1)

Printing points are open Mon, Wed, Fri 8–16 and Tue, Thu 10–18. Corrected certificates may appear in My Kanta with a delay.

Who are the library printing points for?

In Helsinki, the COVID-19 certificate printing service is intended for people who do not have online banking codes or whose COVID-19 certificates in My Kanta are incomplete. Corrected certificates may appear in My Kanta with a delay.

When you visit a printing point, you must have your Kela card or personal ID with you. If you are printing on behalf of your child, they must be present.

In Helsinki, it is not yet possible to print out the EU COVID-19 Certificate for vaccinations received abroad.

If you have online banking codes and your information is correct in My Kanta, you can print out a paper copy of the COVID-19 certificate at any Helsinki Library self-service point. Library staff will help with printing if needed.

Can you get a certificate from a vaccination point or health station?

It is no longer possible to deal with matters related to COVID-19 certificates at the vaccination points in Helsinki. Certificates will not be available at health centres either.

EU COVID-19 certificates for children and young people

A guardian of a child under the age of 10 can view, print out and download an EU COVID-19 certificate from My Kanta (kanta.fi).

A child over the age of 10 can download or print out the COVID-19 certificate from My Kanta personally if they have access to strong authentication, such as online banking credentials or a mobile ID. At the moment, a guardian of an underage person over the age of 10 cannot view, download or print out a child’s/young person’s COVID-19 certificate from My Kanta.

If a child or a young person over the age of 10-years-old requires a COVID-19 certificate and cannot download or print it out from My Kanta, the certificate can be obtained from four printing points in Helsinki without an appointment.

The printing points are located in the Central Library Oodi, Itäkeskus library, Kannelmäki library and Malmi library. Please note that the child or young person must deal with the matter at the printing point themselves. A guardian cannot obtain the EU COVID-19 certificate alone. A guardian cannot obtain a certificate by proxy either.

COVID Certificate for a person with a temporary personal identity number

If you do not have a Finnish personal identity number, but you have a temporary identification code, you can print out an EU COVID-19 certificate at the Helsinki printing points. You can get an EU COVID-19 certificate at a printing point if you have been vaccinated in Helsinki or have been tested at one of the city’s testing points.

Is the certificate valid when travelling?
