Service voucher for an appointment with a doctor

You have been offered a service voucher for an appointment with a general practitioner at a private service provider’s clinic.

You can search for and compare service providers at palse.fi. On the Palse website, you can also view the details of the decision granted to you, check the services available to you and submit feeback.

The service voucher for an appointment with a doctor includes

  • One appointment with a general practitioner
  • Laboratory tests based on the doctor’s assessment (limited selection)
  • X-ray examinations based on the doctor’s assessment (only lung x-ray and plain limb x-rays)
  • Reporting of test results by phone call or text message, when necessary
  • Any prescriptions, care instructions, referrals and medical certificates for sick leave
  • Office, appointment booking and laboratory fees and any other administrative costs related to the service.

If the service provided with the service voucher does not resolve your issue, your treatment will continue at your local health station, if necessary.

The appointment and any related laboratory tests or x-ray examinations are free of charge. If you want to undergo additional examinations, you will need to pay for them yourself. The service voucher does not cover consultations with specialists.

The service voucher is valid for 10 days.

The regular no-show fee of €50.80 will be charged for missing a booked appointment, unless you cancel the appointment on the preceding weekday. Terveystalo appointments can also be cancelled at the weekends.

Appointments cannot be booked online. If you book an appointment via some other channel than the appointment booking numbers listed above, you will need to cover any incurred costs yourself.

What do I do when I have received a service voucher?

When you have been granted a service voucher for a consultation with a doctor, please follow these instructions:

1. Contact the service provider of your choice by phone immediately after you have received the voucher and book an appointment with a general practitioner.

2. When booking an appointment, be sure to mention that you are a client of Helsinki’s health stations and that you have been granted a service voucher for an appointment with a general practitioner.

3. When arriving at the private service provider’s clinic

  • Register at the customer service desk
  • State that you are a client of a Helsinki health station with a service voucher
  • State your personal identity code
  • Go to the appointment at the time booked.

4. If you cannot make it to your appointment, cancel the appointment on the preceding weekday.
