Organisations and the health and social services reform

Organisations play a major role in the preparation of the health and social services reform in Helsinki. At the start of the project, cooperation was initiated with Kumaja, the partnership network of the social service and health care organisations of Uusimaa, which represented social service and health care organisations also in the project’s steering group.

Kumaja’s operations stopped in early 2021, and Helsinki has started a dialogue with organisation experts from Uusimaa related to Järjestöjen sote-muutostuki (‘health and social services reform support for organisations’). Järjestöjen sote-muutostuki is a project entity formed by the Finnish Federation for Social Affairs and Health (SOSTE) and the regional network partners.

Nationwide Järjestöjen sote-muutostuki ensures that organisations are taken into consideration when the reform is prepared and implemented. Organisation experts form an overview of the regional cooperation with organisations, inform organisations of the reform progress and ensure that the appropriate organisations participate in the preparation work. The Järjestöjen sote-muutostuki entity is now representing organisations in the project’s steering group.

Once the legislation related to the reform enters into force, dialogue with organisations will become even closer, and cooperation will continue topic by topic as the preparation of the reform progresses.
