Ressu School is a well-known school for its high-quality education, located on Kalevankatu in the very heart of Helsinki.

Established in 1891, Ressu Upper Secondary School is one of the oldest Finnish-language upper secondary schools in Finland. The English-language part of Ressu, the IB World School, started in 2002.

The school has approximately 850 students and 70 teachers. The students are 15-18 years old.

Although Ressu has strong traditions, the school has always been modern and progressive. We emphasize our shared values – tolerance, cooperation, freedom of choice, and learning to take responsibility.

Our school is famous for its excellent working environment, international atmosphere and numerous development projects and experiments in education. Our teachers include many authors of textbooks and we are also a teaching training school.

The valuable neo-Renaissance building built in 1840 - 1892 provides a functional learning environment, where experienced teachers, an unbeatable location and modern facilities and services provide the basics for an excellent education. The classrooms are equipped with world class modern presentation technology and computers.

Our location at the centre of Helsinki is in many ways ideal. No matter where you live, our school can be reached by all means of transportation from anywhere in the city. The museums, theatres, libraries, fitness centres, opera and universities located near Ressu School guarantee that you can always find everything you need close by.

Ressu’s students receive an excellent starting point for further studies and life. The student association is actively involved in the school’s operations by organizing various theme days and activities. Our graduates have been successful in gaining entry to best ranked universities all over the world in degrees for all majors and specialities.

The school is involved extensively in international cooperation, including student exchanges. In recent years, the school has been involved in in cooperation e.g. England, China, France, Germany, Russia, Estonia.
