Safety training

The Rescue Department’s safety trainers organise open safety training (in Finnish).

Trainings can be requested using the training request form. (in Finnish or Swedish) Training can be organised either in the Rescue Department’s or the customer’s premises. Primarily, training is available for the different departments of City of Helsinki and its schools, day care centres and care institutions. When possible, training is also organised for other target groups in Helsinki. The fire safety training handles the fire safety and safety culture of homes and workplaces, and first aid extinguishing is practiced. The training will be customised for the target group.

The safety trainer can also come in to supervise an evacuation training or offer guidance for organising a safety walk.

Unlawful fires set by children and young people can be handled through the training provided by the Tulipysäkki method.
The rescue stations arrange visits containing safety communication ie for groups of day care and school children.

A group visit including training can be reserved to the museums of the Rescue Department, the Fire museum and the Civil Defence Museum.

The safety and preparedness training of residential buildings is the responsibility of the Helsingin Pelastusliitto ry, in cooperation with the contract fire departments.Sopimuspalokunnat
