The purpose of in-house control for residential buildings is to give housing companies tools for maintaining their safety independently. In addition to this, in-house control helps the Rescue Department to form an overview on the state of housing companies in Helsinki. The objective is to increase safety awareness in residential buildings through the methods of safety communication.

In-house control has been carried out in Helsinki since 2014. The objective of in-house control is to reach every residential building in Helsinki within 10 years.
