The Helsinki Rescue School is part of the Rescue Department’s Centre of Excellence. The Rescue School trains fire fighters and fire foremen for the City of Helsinki’s Rescue Department. The Rescue School’s curriculum follows the curriculum of the state’s Emergency Services College, supplemented with the studies of the capital city’s special characteristics.
In addition to this, the Centre of Excellence is in charge of the Rescue Department’s competence management and the staff’s in-service training. It also organises courses for various target groups.
