The Civil Defence Museum, which is part of the Rescue Department, presents the past and present of civil defence in the setting of a genuine war-time bomb shelter. The museum features unique material from the war-time periods in particular.
The museum is located in Kruununhaka, at Siltavuorenranta 14, and is open from September to May, on Saturdays 10am–2pm, and at other times by agreement. Entry to the museum is free.
The Civil Defence Association of Helsinki and its volunteer guides are responsible for maintenance and providing guide services for the public. The Association also organises safety training in the Civil Defence Museum premises by arrangement.
