The Immigration unit (maahanmuuttoyksikkö) helps refugees and comparable persons who live in Helsinki to integrate. The Immigration unit’s services include guidance, advice and the initial assessment (alkukartoitus). The Immigration unit also helps victims of human trafficking.
The initial assessment is meant to help you find the services you need to support your integration. You can apply for the initial assessment at the Immigration unit if you are not an unemployed jobseeker.

During your asylum application handling, you will get the basic statutory services at the Reception Centre, or they will be organised by the Centre.
