Virka-gallery produces 7–10 exhibitions per year held in the main exhibition area of the lobby and in the exhibition space Katariina. Virka-gallery also produces some short-term pop-up exhibitions. All exhibitions are free of charge and open to everyone.
Virka-gallery's exhibitions open up new perspectives of Helsinki and give citizens and tourists of different ages and backgrounds, the opportunity to get to know the capital of Finland. The perspective may be that of history, architecture, art, multiculturalism or urban culture, for example. In addition to social and current matters, important jubilee years are also considered in the programme. The exhibitions are executed in three languages: Finnish, Swedish and English.
All exhibitions are open according to the City Hall’s opening hours.
Mon-Fri 9-19 and Sat-Sun 10-16.
