Opening hours: The City Hall lobby is open to the public 8am–6pm Monday-Friday (Wednesdays until 8pm by arrangement), and closed on Saturdays and Sundays

Exceptional opening hours

Because of the Coronavirus, the City Hall Lobby is closed for the public for the time being.

  • Maundy Thursday 1 April, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Good Friday 2 April and Easter Monday 5 April closed.
  • Advance voting 7–9 April 2021, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., 10–11 April, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 12–13 April 2021, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. open.
  • Election day 18 April 2021, open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • May Day eve 30 April, open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Ascension Day eve 12 May, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Ascension Day 13 May closed.
  • The day before Midsummer Eve 24 June, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Midsummer Eve 25 June, closed.
  • During summer holiday season 28 June–30 July, open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Independence Day 6 December, closed.
  • Christmas and holiday season 24 December 2021–2 January 2022, closed.
  • Twelfth Night 5 January 2022, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Epiphany 6 January, closed.

Accessibility

  • The Pohjoisesplanadi entrance is wheelchair accessible
  • A reception and information desk is located in the lobby, to the left of the Pohjoisesplanadi entrance.
  • A cloakroom is located in the rear of the lobby, to the right. Lockers are also available.
  • An induction loop for people with hearing impairments is located near the central seating area.
  • The City Hall restaurant is not wheelchair accessible from the lobby.
  • The entrance door is heavy.
  • The draught lobby at the entrance is small.
  • The toilet that has a wheelchair accessible sign does not have enough room for a wheelchair.
  • The door of the toilet with a wheelchair accessible sign is difficult to open and close.
  • There are no surface materials in the indoor routes to help with orientation (colour/shade contrasts and sensory contrasts).
  • There are no signs indoors for the various facilities (customer service desk, toilets, etc.)
