By metro

Quickly, reliably, ecologically

Metro is the fastest and most frequently operated means of transportation in the capital city area. Metro is easy to use: there are only two directions, east and west. The track parts into two in Itäkeskus. The trains travel to Mellunmäki and Vuosaari in turns.

Metro is a smart way to travel on any day, from the morning to the evening.

During the rush hour, the metro trains run every 2,5 minutes between Kamppi and Itäkeskus and every 5 minutes between Itäkeskus and Mellunmäki and Itäkeskus and Vuosaari.

The oldest section of the metro line within Helsinki has 17 stations. There are eight stations on the west metro from Ruoholahti to Matinkylä, and later on there will be five more, when the line from Matinkylä to Kivenlahti is completed.
