Mental health care
Helsinki residents are provided mental health care services at their local health station. Health stations help in emergencies and treat mild and medium-level mental disorders.
As necessary, a customer can be referred by a health station doctor to a psychiatric outpatient clinic. In case of a psychiatric emergency, a customer or the customer’s family or loved ones can contact the nearest psychiatric outpatient clinic directly.
Around-the-clock psychiatric emergency services in Helsinki will be provided by the Haartman and Malmi hospitals' emergency departments. The emergency departments of Haartman and Malmi hospitals provide emergency mental health care for residents of Helsinki aged 16 or over.
Emergency mental health care services for those under 16 years old are available at the Children's Hospital Emergency Department (Stenbäckinkatu 11, tel. 09 87 10023).
