Pap smear screening

All women in Helsinki ages 25-65 receive invitations to Pap smear screening tests at five-year intervals. The invitations are delivered by mail to home addresses. The screenings are free of charge.

Breast cancer screening or mammography

The City of Helsinki offers free-of-charge breast cancer screenings at two-year intervals to all women ages 50-68. On alternating years all women born either in an even or an odd year are invited to mammography screenings by personal letter.

Helsinki uses a Direct radiography system (DR) which makes it possible to detect cancer earlier than before. The treatment results are very good when detecting the tumour in an early stage.

Colorectal cancer screening

HUS Diagnostic Center will invite all 60-, 62-, 64-, 66- and 68-year-old Helsinki residents to participate in colorectal cancer screening. You will receive a personal invitation letter during 2022.
