Hospitals and outpatient clinics
Helsinki City Hospital
Helsinki City Hospital provides in-patient care and home care for patients who do not need the services of emergency units or specialist care (provided by the Hospital District of Helsinki and Uusimaa HUS). Helsinki City Hospital diagnoses and treats somatic disorders, as well as supporting patients’ ability to function. Helsinki Hospital focuses on acute care, geriatric rehabilitation and palliative care. Home care units play an important role in the chain of care for infection patients. Helsinki Hospital organizes health care services among home care units, assisted living and 24-hour care.
Patients are referred to Helsinki City Hospital mainly from emergency clinics and, in case of further care, from specialist care units of the Helsinki University Central Hospital (HUCH).
