Child welfare services secure children’s rights and support parents and other guardians in raising the child. The primary goal of the services is to ensure that a child/young person can grow up in his or her own home.
Child welfare authorities are legally mandated to act if required to protect a child’s welfare.
All children are entitled to:
- a safe and stimulating living environment,
- balanced and versatile development, and
- special protection.
