Kaunissaari

The Kaunissaari nature trail is is marked on the terrain with numbered posts. The posts are situated so that the text in the nature trail brochure is linked to the landscape of each location – even if you don’t run into a northern hobby or a seal, you can, at least, imagine them. In addition to information about the nature, the nature trail also provides information about the history of the island, so the tour could also be called the Kaunissaari nature and history trail.

The fishermen who lived on the island led fascinating lives that were quite different compared to the way we live today: seal hunting on the ice, trade over the Gulf of Finland, fishing for Baltic herring... The Kaunissaari nature trail tour aims to provide information and stories about this beautiful island. The tour includes glimpses into shipwrecks from the age of sail, smuggling and even the war of 1918.

Pihlajasaari

Pihlajasaari is a former villa island that is now a versatile outdoor recreation area. It still has a few old villas set amongst rocks, wooded areas, groves and beaches.

Kaunissaari

Kaunissaari offers a marina in a small bay on the eastern shore of the island, and the operator Norsöline operates the line from Vuosaari.
