Environmental supervision, permits and instructions
According to environmental, health protection and foodstuffs regulations, many businesses need a permit for their operations or must report the operations to the authorities.
If a permit is required for the operations, the operations may not be commenced before the permit, which is legally binding, has been granted. Fees are changed for the processing of permits and reports. The fee amounts are defined in accordance with rates approved by the Urban Environment committee's environment and permits sub-committee.
The Building Control oversees the condition of sites and buildings with its own observations and with written reports from outside sources.
