Contract terms for standing reservations of the Sports Services sports facilities and school gyms

The primary reservation terms are:

  • Winter term of the Sports Services indoor facilities and school gyms from 1 September to 1 June
  • Summer term of the Sports Services indoor facilities from 2 June to 31 August
  • Winter term of the Sports Services outdoor sports facilities from 16 October to 14 April
  • Summer term of the Sports Services outdoor sports facilities from 15 April to 15 October

Reservation confirmation

Reservation confirmations are sent for granted reservations. Changes and any complaints about granted reservations must be filed within two weeks of receiving the reservation confirmation, to the address liikuntapaikkavaraukset@hel.fi. Reservations cannot be transferred or sold to another person or community.

Cancellation by the person who made the reservation

A seasonal reservation is binding, and no individual reservations within the seasonal reservation can be cancelled. The reservation can be cancelled in its entirety during the contract term with a two-week notice period. All cancellations must be submitted in writing to liikuntapaikkavaraukset@hel.fi.

Cancellation by Sports Services

Sports Services may cancel a standing reservation, if necessary. A written notification of the cancellation will be provided. Reservation makers are notified in writing of any breaches of the terms of use during their reservation. The notification may lead to cancellation of the reservation or reservations and a temporary ban on being granted reservations.

Safety

The person making the reservation commits to abiding by the rules, safety instructions and instructions issued by the staff of Sports Services’ facilities and schools.

Damage to property

The person making the reservation must notify Sports Services of any breakages or damage to the sports facility and reimburse Sports Services for any damage they have caused.

Fees

Fees are invoiced based on the price list verified annually. If the fee is not paid by the time it is due, late payment interest will be added to it. Neglecting payments will lead to losing the reservation, and new reservations cannot be made.

Contract terms of self-supervised sports facilities

Those making reservations at self-supervised schools commit to adhering by the operating instructions and the contract terms of keyholder agreements of self-supervised schools, in addition to these contract terms.

  • Summer term of the Sports Services indoor facilities from 2 June to 31 August
  • Winter term of the Sports Services outdoor sports facilities from 16 October to 14 April
  • Summer term of the Sports Services outdoor sports facilities from 15 April to 15 October

Reservations concerning other smaller events and one-time reservations must be cancelled two weeks prior to the date of the reservation, at the latest. If the reservation is cancelled later than this, the person who made the reservation must pay the entire reservation fee. All cancellations must be submitted in writing to liikuntapaikkavaraukset@hel.fi.

Safety

Events organisers for events held in Sports Services facilities are responsible for ensuring the safety of those participating in the event and maintaining order.

Events

The organiser must ensure that all the necessary permits issued by authorities and any notifications have been taken care of well in advance before the event. The organiser must be able to present these permits and other documents at the request of Sports Services. Those making reservations at self-supervised schools commit to adhering by the operating instructions and the contract terms of keyholder agreements of self-supervised schools, in addition to these contract terms.
